This has been . . . quite a year! I don't know about you, but I'm tired of being tired and stressed all the time. I'm ready for some new energy and some fun! How about you?
My name is Michelle and I'm an author, I host Short Story Writing Challenges, I create printables like journals, calendars, posters, checklists, ebooks, bookmarks, puzzle books and more. I write mostly cozy mysteries, paranormal cozies, children's chapter books and some non-fiction. I do all of my own formatting, most of the editing, I create the book covers and publish the books myself. For a while now, I've been dealing with a day job that drained me mentally, physically and emotionally, as well as physical/health challenges, grief and pain. I let my writing and my creating get shoved to the back of the to do list.
But now, I'm back! And I'm all in!
My job ended and I've been working to get stronger, reduce my pain, get healthier and happier. And it's working!
Now my goal is to get my writing back on track and fill up my websites and Etsy shops with lots of wonderful, profitable items! Writing is my happy place and I'm not sure why, but it keeps taking the back seat to chores and adulting, and I'm over it!
I was looking at my calendar, thinking I should block out some time specifically for writing-and stick to it-when I realized I'd really like to have some company and some accountability. I've been reading about silent writing and been curious about it. If you haven't heard of this, it's when a group of people get together on a Zoom call, then do their own thing, silently. Sounds weird, right? But think about it . . . Companionship without the noise, LOL.
But I'd also like to create a full community, for people like me who love writing and creating but also need peace and quiet to recover from the outside world.
So I've created a new kind of membership, that’s inclusive and rewarding, with accountability, free gifts and more. One facet of the membership will be my own version of a "silent" program! For now, I'm calling it, "Silent Treatment." (As an author, words and phrases can tickle my funny bone. Silent Treatment tickles me. I'm not entirely sure why, but it does! LOL)
The way my Silent Treatment sessions will work is this:
The sessions will be 1 hour and 15 minutes long. The first ten minutes will be a check in. If you're looking for accountability, let us know. If you just want to share what you'll be working on, that's fine. It's just a quick hello, this is what I'm up to. Then, for 1 hour, we'll all mute ourselves. We'll still be able to see the people who have their cameras on, but we'll all be doing our own thing. Then the last five minutes will be for stating your accomplishments, frustrations, or just saying goodbye.
You can use this time for accountability and/or productivity,(like me, since I know I need that time blocked out to write,) or you can use it as a break from your day to day routine. You can write, create printables, knit, crochet, draw, color, do a puzzle, take a nap, give yourself a mani/pedi, whatever you need to do to nurture yourself. The only think I ask is if you're doing something where you're moving around a lot, please go off camera so you're not distracting everyone else! LOL. (You don't have to be on camera, but it's kind of nice to see people and know that you're not alone.) I'm starting this in December because for many people, it's an extremely busy time and a break for an hour can make the difference between losing your cool and feeling renewed. It's also a difficult time for people for other reasons, so some companionship and support can be a relief.
But that's not all! We'll also have other sessions. Our first meeting will be a meet and greet, on December 2nd. Starting in January, we'll have a Celebration Day, a Gratitude Day and maybe some kind of networking day or a party. This membership will be a little fluid while we get to know each other and based on changing needs.
There's also the community where you can post things you're thinking about, need help with, would like to see in the group, etc.
And if you’re not ready to commit to a membership, that’s okay. In December I'll add the option to drop in to any Silent Treatment session for a one time payment. You won't get the other benefits of the membership, but you'll be able to test it out.

Attend as many or as few Silent Treatment Sessions as you'd like per month (These will be offered on a drop in basis for $5 per session if you don't sign up for the membership.)

When I publish any fiction books, everyone who's an active member for that month will get a digital copy of the book! (I'm planning to publish two books before the end of the year, so that means you'd get both FREE if you join now!)
As a Founding Member, your price will NEVER go up, as long as you remain a member. (If you quit then decide to come back you'll pay the going price.)
